Meet Dr. John Jurkas
Dr. John Jurkas was born and raised in western Michigan. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biomolecular Science at the University of Michigan and graduated with high honors and distinction in 2013. Dr. John stayed in Ann Arbor to complete dental school at the University of Michigan where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2018. He then pursued additional training in general dentistry at Morristown Medical Center where he received extensive experience in oral surgery and management of patients with complex medical conditions. Dr. John practiced general dentistry prior to obtaining a Master of Science in Endodontics and certificate in Endodontics from Marquette University.
Upon graduation from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Dr. John was awarded the Russell W. Bunting Periodontal Society Award for clinical periodontics and the Raymond L. Hayes award for excellence in predoctoral Endodontics. During his specialty training at Marquette University, Dr. John completed research evaluating the influence of Endodontic surgery on the fracture resistance of teeth. Dr. John is a board eligible member of the American Board of Endodontics and is an American Association of Endodontics member. He enjoys learning about current research and stays on top of new findings to ensure that patients are receiving the most personalized care for their needs.
Outside of the office, Dr. John enjoys hiking, sports, weightlifting, and nature photography. Memberships: American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, American Board of Endodontics.
